I am proud to announce the graduation of my son William from high school with Honors. I feel exceptional pride because he graduated and was accepted to
Tennessee's #3 university, Middle Tennessee State University despite so many overwhelming obstacles that most students never incur. I also feel a sense of personal achievement as his mother for his ACT & GPA after homeschooling him myself using my own resources and curriculum. His good grades and ACT scores landed him a spot in the prestigious Department of Mass Communication where he will major in Audio Production. William developed an aptitude for both technology and music in elementary school. I bought us a our first computer on his first birthday. Besides a well rounded college preparatory education in English, math, biology, chemistry and physics, over the years he has developed many skills: playing the piano & guitar, song writing and digital sound production that prepare him for his career choice. He is not just another teenager trying to be the next "music mogul." He has a genuine love for all musical genres and has been motivated to study extensively on his own. It was love at first sight when he visited the MTSU campus during a trip with his church youth group as a 9th grader. He has well researched the industry to know that MTSU's "Recording Industry Management" program had been rated one of the best in the country. MTSU is also located near Nashville, the Music city, one of only 3 cities ( LA & NYC are only other 2 ) that publish music in the USA. With all of this going for him he is bound for success. He is eligible for Financial Aid and his good grades have gotten him the Hope & Aspire scholarships; however, before receiving his awards upon entering college, he has some lofty expenses that he needs cash for ASAP that without child support my disability check cannot cover. We are estimating about $600 expense for basic supplies, transportation and dormitory deposit but his old desktop PC is in disrepair and he also really needs a reliable laptop ($600 or more). He completed orientation July 17 and has officially enrolled in his classes. Housing is not guaranteed until we pay the $300 deposit! I appeal to our family and friends to donate anything you can to help William go to college!

The Greatest!

As 4th grader, William recites a monologue as his African American hero, Muhamed Ali during Scenic Hills elementary School's Black History Program. It was the same year Will Smith starred in "Ali."
